Serendipity! (or, How I Arrived Here)

Okay, I am ready to make a public admission: I hate writing HTML. That's not to say I dislike the idea of having a web site, mind you. You're here, aren't you? So there's my proof.

I've lived through "dot commands." First it was WordStar, then it was AppleWriter ][. I don't need to do this again. So I've fiddled and piddled, scraping together enough HTML to share digital photos on the web. "Figure out an easier way" was on my to-do list... just not very high.

Then, one evening, I caught a reference to a new web site creation tool called CityDesk. It seemed to be worth exploring... and one free download later, here I am! CityDesk is designed to make it easy to add "articles" to your site. There's enough built-in functionality to get you started very quickly, and yet you can customise the look of your site easily enough. Yes, there'll be HTML to write, but it's the "fun" HTML, not the grungy every-paragraph stuff.

Well, I'll see how far I can go with CityDesk.
