Thursday, November 14, 2002I'm a member of a great club: The St. Louis QRP Society. In years past, I've posted Field Day pictures on the web, and once I even started a sort-of web page for the club, just as a little experiment.
With postal rates climbing at a dizzying rate, we decided that the club needed its own home on the net, as a place to distribute newsletters in electronic format. Newsletters are distributed to club members only, but other material (such that it is) is available to the general public.
You are welcome to visit the SLQS web site. We even have our own domain name: slqs.net. So, to visit our web site, travel to http://www.slqs.net.
The SLQS is a group of amateur radio operators (or "hams") who are interested in low-power communications. "What's low power?" you might ask. Well, we stick with five watts or less. Considering that your typical night-light consumes seven watts... and you see that we're on a pretty tight power budget. So what can you do with those five watts? How about communicate with hams around the world? Strange, but true. And fun.
